Time for Tea & Tulips

Who has the time you ask? The answer is really… we all do!

I am sure most of you know what I am talking about…we stress out over how little time we actually have in our days instead of actually doing something about it. If you are like me you wonder where the hell the day went?? how on earth did the time fly by and how do I make it slow down?!?

Well, there is not a way to slow down time unless one of you have some sort of super human awesome power to control time and if you do have that power (or any other power) please send me an email stat! What we can do is consciously carve out a few minutes in our days for tea & tulips, coffee & chocolate, popcorn & phone calls, couch time with your cat…. I am sure you are getting the idea here.

Think of the reward, it would so be worth it. A moment to breathe, quiet time…beautiful us only time! How much happier and stress free we could all be! Ironically, this tea and tulip time was a few moments I had on Tuesday & I was so busy I could not post until today. That made the wheels in my head churn. So, I made myself slow down, hot coffee next to me (decaf) and write.  I enjoy writing, it is relaxing for me, I carved out ten minutes to add this darling post. Already I feel like I can tackle the world (well, at least the day) and yes on my tippi toes!

All is Calm

All is bright

Dashing through the snow? it’s more like trudging through the sand. The water might be cold and the air a little brisk, but a California Christmas comes with its own glitter, sparkle and glow. Our Christmas eve tradition is a visit to the beach, a bottle of wine and a blanket…this year the rain changed our happily scheduled date with the ocean (bah humbug)

The day after Christmas this year would have to do, no bottle, or blanket as we set out for a small hike before making our way to our beloved beach. Grabbing my sweater I noticed a lone Christmas ornament in my car…(an escapee from decorating a clients home).  A single sparkling ball that would rather explore the California beaches with us than be stuck in a glass cylinder! (don’t blame it one bit) So I thought “why not?” & that ball made for some wonderful pictures, memories and laughter…not too mention now we have a new tradition for next year.

Wishing You All A Marvelously Merry Holiday

unnamed (23)

The morning started off rolling out of bed, stumbling for coffee after a little too much wine, cheese & pâté last night (sighs) leaving my three loves behind cozy comfy without a care in the world as they slumber. I sip my coffee and happily get into my workout gear so I can train my 7:00 AM Face Time client.

Needless to say after training I am wide awake, just can’t lay back down now. Deep thinking about the past three years of our lives and how it has changed so drastically (in an amazing way) Missing our family and close friends as we are so many miles away, but realizing how incredibly blessed we are (pausing to thank the big guy upstairs). If we did not leave the East Coast to try something new, we would have never grown. Life is meant to be lived and fully…the world is so vast & to be a bean in a tiny pod is no way to live.

Packing up everything & driving across country to reside in beautiful California (still feels like a dream) was the most amazing thing we have ever done together. I feel as if our bean in the little pod is now a huge bean stalk growing taller and fuller each day. I can not wait to see what lies ahead, the best and biggest gift is life. No matter where you are or who you are with.. make the most of it. Just remember to live… this Christmas I have everything I want under my tree….(actually in bed still sleeping, all three!)

Merry Merry to you and yours… XOXO

Oh What Fun

It is to decorate someone else’s home for a holiday party!

unnamed (23)A little glitter and glow with a few simple holiday touches to add comfort & joy. I have the best clients, for not only did I decorate this entire loft when they moved in (the photos are just of the living & dinning space) I was asked back to decorate with just a few holiday touches for a small dinner party (hence the empty serving dishes which will be filled with goodies) The lovely family whose home I decorated today will be leaving for the holidays so no tree was needed nor lots of holiday fluff.

In this modern cozy loft every last detail you see I picked out and placed about the room, each piece of furniture down to littlest vase. The homeowner is a great artist (she will read this and give me an eye roll or tell me to hush) so her wall art is one of a kind, with a few pieces I made or had made for the Mr. & Mrs…… might be a little hard to see with the light bouncing around , afraid my iPhone photos does not do this room justice. I used sparkling silver ornaments and glass cylinders to add that soft holiday glow…accenting with ornaments in shades of teal and blue (a color used through out their home) Large and small silver snowflakes add a whimsical touch for all to enjoy, I  hung a few small snowflakes in their daughters room, I wish I could see her little eyes light up when she notices them!

White serving bowls/dishes only, for food always looks best on white (there is a reason restaurants use white) Cut pine fills vases and along with scented candles the freshness makes you feel as if you are surrounded by pine trees.  I love what I do, styling people & rooms, an entire home, changing people’s lives getting them healthy & fit…not bragging here because I don’t have fifty clients but more than a few, they keep me busy and happy all year through!

The Dark Side

 Made Me Do It

unnamed (10) unnamed (9)Well… not really…. but I can’t seem to get motivated today. I started wrapping presents and getting holiday organized (even put on holiday music) but then a bottle of wine called and said “hey you should pour some of me…sit, read the new issue of Domino magazine and totally relax for a little while” (at least until my cocktail party tonight) oh and the rain! California can we just turn off the faucet for a little while, just for tonight?? I have a huge umbrella…big enough for at least five people, not sure what my handsome date is going to use though! 😉 Have a fabulous Friday!
